Gospel Harmony Boys tenor, Clacy Williams

I believe we all have a talent and purpose for existing, but realization comes only by living obediently in God's will. In John 10:27 and 28 Christ said,

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish..."

Growing up in Flat Top, WV, my Momma gave daily instruction from God's word, and she taught that being in His will assures ownership of His promise. It became evident at Ghent Missionary Baptist Church that God had provided a talent. My grandmother and a dear friend, Virgil French, took watch care over its development and threw me into the family quartet at the age of twelve. Thus came my love of gospel music and the wonderful "Ol Style" quartets that sang it. Since that time, God has provided opportunities to use that talent to follow Him.

"I thank God today that He knows me and my prayer is that I will never fail to hear the Shepherd's voice."

After my serving with the Kinsmen, the Christian Four and the Hoppers, God, in a miraculous way, placed me with the Gospel Harmony Boys in 1971. The rest is a wonderful history that is my life's story. I thank God today that He knows me, and my prayer is that I will never fail to hear the Shepherd's voice, for true joy comes from following Him, and, like Momma said, I am assured that His promise is mine. You see, I believe there truly is a certain kind of certainty that comes with serving the Lord.
