New GHB Recording in the Works

The GHBs have been working diligently in preparation for a new recording that will feature some wonderful old songs as well as new material that came straight out of the top drawer. In recent months, God has provided us the opportunity and the pleasure of working with some terrifically talented and encouraging musicians to select and arrange the songs for this recording.
Jimmy Piercy, whose name is synonymous with gospel music excellence in the Kanawha Valley of West Virginia, is often referred to by the GHBs as the Chord Doctor. Jimmy has been a friend for many years and we've been honored to have him sit in with us to share his technical know-how on several of the great arrangements to which he has contributed. A more humble and unassuming gentleman has never existed and it has truly been our joy to have Jimmy involved in this GHB recording effort. His contribution will be heard and enjoyed by every true music connoisseur who takes the opportunity to listen to this CD.
Hopefully, all of our combined efforts will make this one of those exceptional recordings that the GHBs have always striven to deliver
One of the most talented songwriters around is Vince Owens. Vince is originally from Logan, WV but now resides in North Canton, Ohio with his wife Sarah and daughters Heather, Hannah and Emily. Currently we are preparing for two new CDs in succession and Vince has written several new songs that are being rehearsed for these recordings. His writing is truly anointed and has excited the spirit within each of us. Additionally, he is an extremely talented musician and played for the group for three years during the River City Quartet era just prior to re-assumption of the GHB name in 2004. We are honored hat Vince has contributed his time, talent and material to this effort. Oh, and by the way, you are being entertained by another of Vince's great talents even as you read this article because he is also our internet web-master.
Currently we are working with Mike Bloomfield who will be our producer during this upcoming recording session. Mike is an old friend, a well-respected musician and owner of the highly successful Millennium Duplicating, Inc. where he produces gospel music CDs, Videos and DVDs for nearly every body in the business. Mike began his music career as a very young lad with the GHBs in 1977 playing bass guitar and piano. He brings one of gospel music's most unique and extraordinary arranging and recording talents to the table. We are exceptionally pleased and appreciative of his willingness to take time from an extremely busy schedule to make a major contribution to this recording.
As you can see, there is a mule-wagon load of talent going into this recording effort. It is truly our privilege to have had the opportunity to work with each of these men whose God-given gifts and talents cannot be quantatively valued. So, when you have the opportunity to listen to this new CD for the first time, know that the GHBs are doing the singing, but remember that there was a lot of beautiful work contributed to the effort by some extremely talented individuals behind the scenes. Hopefully, all of our combined efforts will make this one of those exceptional recordings that the GHBs have always striven to deliver.
The first instrumental session is slated for April 11, 2006 at Harvest Gospel Studios in Huntington, WV and release of the CD is expected n late spring or early summer.
