The Gospel Harmony Boys are pleased to announce that John Scott Brooks has accepted the full time position of baritone with the group. Rusty Ballinger, still a member of the group, needed to spend more time at his chosen profession. Rusty will travel with the group to do special songs and serve as the fifth man, as his career permits.

Scott, who served as the fifth man for the group for several years, and now is in a position to travel with the group full time. He manages an office for New York Life and Financial Products, in Oceana, WV. Scott is, and will continue to serve as, Deacon for the Lacoma Baptist Church. Scott and his lovely wife Anita make their home in Cyclone, WV.

The Gospel Harmony Boys are thankful for Scott and Anita's Christian walk and their willingness to make the sacrifices required to sing the Lord's praises.

Scott is recognized as one of the premier talents in Gospel Music. When he learned that Scott had joined the group on a full time basis, Asbury Adkins said: "Scott Brooks is a Christian gentlemen and a great singer. He comes from a singing family that I know well. I have enjoyed knowing them through the years. Scott's brother was pastor of a church near Wayne, WV, at the same time Harold Lane was band director at Wayne. The family is loaded with talented singers and musicians. I remember the first time I saw Scott. It was at his father's home near Mallory, WV between concerts by the Gospel Harmony Boys. I was sitting at their piano, scoring a song Dick Lucas had written. Scott could not have been more than four years old at the time. I am pleased to hear he is with the Boys full time. He will be an asset."

Indeed, Scott and his entire family are and always have been talented and dedicated singers. Even with the Gospel Harmony Boys' demanding schedule, Scott manages to sing with Anita and his highly talented children, Lindsay and Richard. He is the consummate family man and dotes on his three grand children, Jonathan, Isabella and Austin.

The Gospel Harmony Boys are thankful for Scott and Anita's Christian walk and their willingness to make the sacrifices required to sing the Lord's praises.
