Cross Lanes Baptist Celebrates Clacy’s 60th Birthday

The Old Man gets a ride in his new wheels
On July 31, Clacy celebrated that long awaited birthday that officially moves one into the ranks of “Elderly”. To be sure he didn’t let it just slip quietly into the annals of history, the evening was punctuated with a huge exclamation point. A totally surprise birthday bash resulted from the huge efforts of Calvin Thompson, Donna Tenny, Clacy’s wife Brenda and lots of folk at Cross Lanes Baptist Church who sprung it perfectly in his honor (we think).
Nearly 600 guests, including friends from throughout West Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and North Carolina enjoyed a terrific GHB concert and then listened intently as the “Roast” cooked the old geezer’s goose. Said Calvin: "They say you're supposed to roast a turkey about twenty minutes per pound... I figure we've got about two weeks to go, here." And it only got better!
